Atomera’s Mears Silicon Technology (MST®) is designed to help semiconductor manufacturers squeeze additional performance and power benefits out of their current technology. When applied to lagging, mainstream, or state-of-the-art FinFET technology, MST is estimated to deliver as much as a full node of power and performance improvement as compared to conventional manufacturing processes at the same geometry.

MST® does this through a materials breakthrough and other patented techniques that improve key transistor characteristics, enabling higher performance, lower power and reduced variability. By providing a new toolbox for designers, MST® can be used for new CMOS designs which may not otherwise be possible in existing process technologies.

Over the last ten years, Atomera has done significant laboratory testing and engaged with a range of semiconductor industry and academic technology leaders to evaluate MST® performance on test chips in industrial fabrication environments. We believe this testing has demonstrated that MST® offers performance benefits beyond and in most cases additive to those provided by already successfully adopted semiconductor material improvment technologies and can be implemented without significant additional cost or modification to the current semiconductor fabrication process.
